GUADELOUPE

The Guadeloupe Fishing Festival is an international tournament of sport fishing which takes place between the end of April and the beginning of May in Gosier. Created in 2006, this event attracts every year all the fishing enthusiasts of the Caribbean.

For three days, fishing professionals and amateurs try to win the most coveted prize which rewards the team having fished the biggest blue marlin in this competition, all years combined.

Species conservation is also an integral part of the tournament with the Billfish Foundation Award, which rewards the number of fish tagged and released, an operation called Tag & Release.

Festivities and relaxation are ensured during the day with the entertainment offered in the festival village, during the award cocktails, and throughout the day off which is held on the fourth day at Gosier islet.
