The international cycling tour of Guadeloupe, which is very popular on the island, is probably the event that Guadeloupeans are most passionate about during the summer.
The sporting event, which welcomes teams from all over the world, every year, is composed of 9 stages, one stage per day. During these 9 days of competition, the cyclists cross all the cities of the island to guarantee varied routes. The climbers enjoy the climbs of Basse-Terre and the sprinters, the flat of Grande-Terre. Spectators are not to be outdone as they settle on the lower side of the roads at dawn, armed with provisions, ready to cheer on the athletes.
