Arrowroot Jollification Festival

Experience real St. Martin culture and Dig in! Hand-harvest arrowroot in the village of Colombier. The Arrowroot Jollification is a two-day festival held annually to remind visitors not only about the nutritional benefits of the herb but also of its cultural significance.

Arrowroot is one of many indigenous herbs in the Caribbean that were first discovered by Arawak Indians and were later transformed into a worldwide commodity.

The Arrowroot Jollification is a cultivation event for families and friends to get together and have a wonderful time. It is organized by the Nature Valley Colombier Association. Everyone can participate through the entire arrowroot process, such as: digging, stripping, washing, pounding and squeezing. A perfect weekend break from all the hustle of a busy week and also to get a taste of the past.
