Jun. 16, 2020 - Jun. 20, 2021See you next year
Since its start in 1997, the St. Martin Billfish tournament has become an established stop on the Caribbean fishing circuit. The association’s founding members created the tournament because of their passion for fishing. Every year about 30 crews go in search of the biggest fish. It's the biggest deep-sea fishing tournament in the Caribbean.
It’s good to know that the tournament is organized following the IGFA Rules and Regulations. The boats practice no-kill: the catches are put back into the water unless the fish caught turns out to be a bigger catch than in previous years.
The four day event, which takes place on the Marigot waterfront, attracts hundreds of visitors. Everyone is invited to come out as from 4h30 pm, to watch the boats return and witness the weighing of the fish. Also a village full of entertainment and local food is available. On the last night the winners will be announced and a closing concert takes place.
